DEFINITION

Intermed, founded in 1998, is an association currently comprising the ports of Barcelona, Marseilles and Genoa. The three members are situated in a radius of 356 nautical miles, offer specialised state-of-the-art services for the handling and treatment of all types of goods and passenger transport, and have received type approval certifying the highest standards of quality in the provision of services.

These three ports handle most of the maritime trade of Spain, France and Italy, and are therefore one of the main economic driving forces in the European Union’s trade relations with other two great economic centres, North America and the Far East.
